XC - BOYS CROSS COUNTRY ~ Kevin Hanson finished 32nd (5K-18:09, 109 finishers) helping the CARDS to a 2nd place finish at the Algona Invite   ~ Ron Reynolds (17:47, 5K - 145 finishers) helped the CARDS to a 3rd place finish at the Milaca Mega Meet - also finished 17th(19:05) at the CARD Invite   ~ Justin McMurtry finished 35th (18:10 - 5K) out of 82 runners at the Hutchinson Invite   ~ Robby Riley placed 23rd(17:40 - 5K) out of 226 runners(32 teams) at the Redbird Invite    ~ Sam Viesselman finished 14th (18:21 - 5K) out of 132 runners at the Mt Lake Wolverine Invite   ~ Josiah Johnson (5:53 - 1 mile) edged out a win in the 6th/7th grade division at the CARDS Early Bird Invite

         

XC - GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY ~ Tracy Thiesse 24th (16:44-4K, 108 finishers) helped the CARDS finish 1st at the Algona Invite ~ Lauren Friese ranked #2  in Class A - finished 2nd(14:45, 4K-137 finishers) setting a FHS course record at the Milaca Mega Meet by 36 sec. Also 2nd(16:02) at the CARD Invite to Adrian's Class A  #1 ranked Jordin Kopplow who finished 7th at Milaca     ~ Lauren Friese ranked #2 runner in Class A finished 1st(15:55 - 4K) out of 73 runners at the Hutch Invite. Her time set a FHS record for a 4K race    ~ Justine Gerdts finished 34th(16:54 - 4K) out of 205 runners(29 teams) at the Montgomery-Lonsdale Redbird Invite     ~ Laura Hamp finished 14th (16:41 - 4K) out of 115 runners at the Mt Lake Wolverine Invite   ~ Lovisa Gronros Foreign exchange student  finished 1st(16:17 - 4K) in the 12th grade division at the CARDS Early Bird Invite

         

GT - GIRLS TENNIS(7-5) ~ Allison Moeller #4 singles captured 4th at the SCC Meet - defeating BEAs Wolff 6-3, 6-2. ~ Megan Fuhrman & Kate Murphy tied at a set piece with BEAs Zierke/ Drake won the 3rd set 7-6(9-7) at #1 singles   ~ Kelly Bloomgren  downed Jordan's Kellie Schultz 2-6, 6-2, 7-6(7-5) at #2 single  in the CARDS 4-3 win    ~ Hilary Schelgren & #3 doubles partner Lauralee Tromanhauser defeated New Ulm's Albrecht-Johnson 6-3, 6-3 . ~ Allison Moeller downed Worthington's Ashley Jansma 6-0, 6-0 at #4 singles.  

         

BS - BOYS SOCCER(8-3-2) ~ Joe Driano scored on a penalty kick vs New Ulm, also goal and assist vs St Peter   ~ Lucas Miles got the game winner in the 2nd overtime period vs New Prague - also had an assisted on the CARDS 1st OT goal   ~ Macree Colvin game winner with 4 seconds left vs SWM Christian - also goal in the CARDS tie vs Worthington      ~ Lucas Miles had a "Hat Trick" scoring 3 goals in the first half vs St Peter.     ~ Grant Becker scored the CARDS game winner off the crossbar at 33:22 in the second half vs Loyola    ~ Matt Tennyson, Goalie made 14 saves in the CARDS 1-0 loss to SW MN Christian  

GS - GIRLS SOCCER(2-10-2) ~ Ashley Kloeckner scored her first goal(32:04) of the season vs Mankato East    ~ Angela Hasek-goalie had 10 saves vs Mankato Loyola and 4 saves including 2 in OT vs New Prague    ~  Mikaela Pederson scored 2 goals at the AL Invite, one vs Albert Lea & one in the CARDS 3rd place win vs Arcadia, Wisconsin     ~ Wendy Anders scored the CARDS 3rd goal in a 3-3 overtime tie vs New Ulm   ~ Allison Mitchell had the CARDS only goal in a 1-1 overtime tie vs Faribault ~ Katie Nicoson scored on a penalty kick in the secound half (33:43) in the CARDS 2-0 win over Austin

VB - VOLLEYBALL(3-11) ~ Rachel Tschumperlin 2Kills in conference match vs New Ulm also 7 ace blocks vs St James   ~ Elizabeth Kim had 19 set assists helping the CARDS hand SCC leader St James(4-1) their 1st SCC loss 3 games to 2    ~ Paige Bearson had six kills vs Blue Earth Area and 5 kills vs Marshall   ~ Jayme Strauser had 31 kills and 11 solo blocks at the Visitation Invitational Tournament  ~ Mariah Schultz had 16 set assists and was 9-9 from the service line vs MCW

FB - CARD FOOTBALL(3-2) NEXT VS BLUE EARTH(4-1)

CARDS 41, WASECA 21 ~ OL Javon Ramos opend holes for 274yds rushing vs the Bluejays. RB Borchardt rushed 26 times for 146yds & 3TDs as the CARDS scored 2TDs in the 1st & 2nd QTs and led 28-14 at the half. QB Kain((4-5, 76yds) hit WR Schultz for 58yd strike and TE Heide with a 5yd 4th down and goal with 1:48 to go in the half. Borchardt(6yd TD) and FB Kyle Guetter(20yd TD) scored 3QT runs. Verhaal, Marcus Asmus, Wilken and Becker led the "D" - LB Peymann(2pt conversion) with 10 tackles and forced fumble. Schultz added a INT

CARDS 41, NEW ULM 21 ~ OT DJ Moeller helped the CARDS amassed 349 total yds(176 rush - 173 pass) - QB Ben Kain connected on 12 of 14(173yds) attempts with two TDs in the 3rd quarter to put the CARDS up 27-6. Bryce Holm(3-53yds) caught a 31yd score while Adam Schultz(3-70yds) hauled in a 68yd bomb. Borchardt ran 27 times for 154yds. CB Joey Duflo & LB Marcus Asmus had INTs, and LB Peymann led the CARDS in tackles with 11. DE Verhall stripped away a fumble recovery

CARDS 20, ST PAUL CENTRAL 21 ~ RB Alek Borchardt led the CARDS in rushing carrying 29 times for 167yds and his 18 yd TD run put the CARDS up 14-6 at the half. Central came back with two scores in the 3rd & 4th quarters the latter coming on a fumble recovery in the endzone. QB Kain(16-28-195yds) hooked up with WR Schultz(10-178yds) on a 22yd fleaflicker pass to bring the CARDS within one - the point after try was no good and the ensuing onside kick was recovered by Central. Schultz added an INT and Wilken registered nine tackles and a sack on defense

 

CARDS 14, MARSHALL 28 ~ WR Adam Schultz's 99yd KO return answered the Tigers first score, but it was the Tiger's ground game the rest of the breezy-rainy nite(222yds). Kain went 7-18-1, 82yds with a 17yd TD to Schultz(4-46yds). TE Peymann had 2 catches for 24yds, TE Chris Heide caught a 2pt conversion. RB Borchardt carried 15 times for 43yds. Schultz had 2 INTs, DE Doug Verhall FUM REC and to lead the defense.

CARDS 48, WORTHINGTON 6 ~ QB Ben Kain(7-11-146yds) threw 3TD passes - Two to WR Adam Schultz(27-36yds, 4-84 rec) and ran 7yds for another. The cards led 42-0 at the half. TE Logan Peymann had a 37yd catch and run TD. OSLB Levi Becker returned an INT 36yds for a score. RBs Alek Borchardt(8-99yds) & Ross Wilken(10-75yds) scored from 55yds & 1yd out. E Carson Ricard(FUM rec) &  Wilken had 9 tackles each. CARDS amassed 367 total yds to Worthington 125yds
