XC - BOYS CROSS COUNTRY ~ Sam Viesselman finished 18th(17:05.1) to lead the #8th ranked CARDS to a 9th place finish at the Class 1A State Meet - 161 runners, 16 teams. 34th Justin McMurtry, 17:41.1 - 41st Robby Riley, 17:48.9 - 49th Ron Reynolds,  17:58.1 -  64 Kevin Hanson, 11 18:11.1 ~ Joe Fujan 41st(19:03) beat MCWS 5th runner to help the CARDS to a 2nd place finish at the Section 2A and a State berth ~ Robert Hamp finished 4th in Heat B 12 finishers (19:18-5K) at the Buc Invite ~ Robby Riley placed 7th 17:42 to capture All-Conference honors at the SCC Meet ~ Jeremy Botzet 45th(19:28 - 5K) 125 runners in varsity/JV race, top finisher in the JV I-90 meet  

           

XC - GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY ~ Lauren Friese #2 ranked Class 1A, finished 2nd(14:51.5) at the  State Meet helping the #9th ranked CARDS finish 6th 153 runners, 16 teams. 49th Laura Hamp, 15:58.8 -63rd Lovisa Gronros, 16:06.2 - 86th Justine Gerdts, 16:28.3 - 113th Sarah Ostlie, 6:58.8 - 127th Tracy Thiesse, 17:21.6 - 129th Jaclyn Friese, 17:25.2 ~ Katianna Fischer 34th place(16:18 - 4K, 119 runners) helped  the CARDS to a 2nd place finish at the Section 2A and a State berth ~ Lauren Friese ranked #2  in Class A - finished 1st 14:09 - 4K a new FHS record at the Buc Invite ~ Laura Hamp captured her 4th All-SCC honor with a 3rd place win(16:05) at the SCC Meet ~ Sarah Ostlie 22nd(16:51 - 4K) CARDS 4th counting score, helped the CARDS to win the I-90 invite ~ Lauren Friese ranked #2  in Class A - finished 2nd(14:45, 4K-137 finishers) setting a FHS course record at the Milaca Mega Meet by 36 sec. Also 2nd(16:02) at the CARD Invite to Adrian's Class A  #1 ranked Jordin Kopplow who finished 7th at Milaca

         

GT - GIRLS TENNIS(8-6) ~ Sydney Ruen downed BEAs Karliegh Wolff 6-0, 6-1 in play-in Section 2A Individual Meet ~ Libby Humpal and Aubrey Green,  #2 doubles 6-4, 2-6 7-6(7-0) win sealed the #4 seeded CARDS 4-3 section win vs #5 seeded Jordan ~ Megan Fuhrman & Kate Murphy tied at a set piece with BEAs Zierke/ Drake won the 3rd set 7-6(9-7) at #1 singles ~ Lauralee Tromanhauser and Hilary Shelgren #3 doubles won 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 6-4 over the Saints' Wenner/Smesmo

     

BS - BOYS SOCCER(11-5-3) ~ Luke Sandersfeld the CARDS lost 3-0 to Mankato East in Sec 2A Playoffs & finished the season 11-5-3 ~ Ryan Heuer scored the 5th goal(9:29) in the 1st half vs New Ulm Section 2A Playoffs ~ Macree Colvin 2 goals in 2-2 OT tie vs Worthington also goal and assist in CARDS 3- win vs MLBO

   

GS - GIRLS SOCCER(3-13-2) ~ Wendy Anders scored unasissted goal(33:46) in the 1st half and a shootout goal in the 2nd OT vs Mankato East Section 2A Playoff ~ Kaylee Sauck 2 goals (23:51 - 13:12 in the 2nd half) vs Worthington - also assist on Wendy Anders goal in 3-0 win vs Waseca    

       

VB - VOLLEYBALL(8-15) ~ Jayme Strauser had 13 kills and 9 ace blocks vs Worthington South Sub Sec 2AA ~ Darien Ruschy had three ace serves for the CARDS vs New Ulm ~ Paige Bearson 22-25 serving 13kills vs St Peter 11kills, 3 ace serves Worthington ~ Mariah Schultz had 9-12-5 set assists vs Park CG, SMC, MCW & 12-12(ace) serving vs RV at Pipestone Tourney

SECTION 3AAA SEM-FINAL PLAYOFFS - CARDS 21, Glencoe Silver Lake 28 ~ Ben Kain(26-46, 262 yds) tossed a 3rd QT - 10yd TD pass to Bryce Holm(11-123yds) and scored from a yard out with 5:59 to go to bring the CARDS within a TD. GSL ended the CARDS upset bid with a INT with 1:47 remaining. Trailing 20-0 Adam Schultz(10-98yds rec) sparked the CARDS 2nd half comeback with a 82yd KO return. Wilken & Peymann(5-41yds rec) led the "D" with 8 tackles each and Joey Duflo recovered a fumble forced by Chris Hiede & Levi Becker

 
 

SECTION 3AAA PLAYOFFS - CARDS 35, Redwood Valley 7 ~ Borchardt(24-226yds) after a scoreless 3QT scored the CARDS final TD on a 82yd run his 3rd of the game(3yd & 5yd TDs). Schultz(3-28yds rec) & Peymann(2-28yds rec) caught a 7yd & 26yd TD passes from Kain(7-13-74yds). DL Branch Johnson, Becker, Wilken and Asmus stymied drives and a couple of 4th downs tries, and a goal line stand after a CARD miscue on their own 5yd line   

 
 

CARDS 43, St James 7 ~ Colton Higgins recovered a fumble, bloked a punt for a safety and had an interception to lead the CARDS past the Saints. Borchardt(20-156yds) scored twice, Schultz(7-94yds-rec) returned the safety free kick 63yds for a TD. QB Kain(14-21-192yds) ran 7yds for a TD and toss a TD pass WR Bryce Holm(4-60yds) - Kyle Guetter had 3 catches for 37yds. TE Peymann picked off a pass and also caught a TD pass from QB Luke Hested. 

 
 

CARDS 55, St Peter 34 ~ Adam Schultz(rec5-156) scored 5 TDs in the 1st half. His opening TD-KO return was negated by a penalty. Schultz returned two INTs(33-45yds) and a punt 82yds also caught two(27-74yds) from Kain(8-12-190). Kyle Guetter had a 7yd TD run, Kain also adde a 20yd TD keeper. Peymann and Verhaal led the "D" - Marcus Asmus and Joey Duflo had INTs, Schultz added a stripped fum-rec. Higgins recovered a fumble caused by Ross Wilken.

 
 

CARDS 26, Blue Earth Area 0 ~ LB Logan Peymann's 66yd TD-INT return with 2:59 in the 4th QT made sure the "Little Brown Jug" would stay with the CARDS for another year. Borchardt's(22-172yds) 58yd TD run and Kain's(14-21-151yds) to Schultz(9-108yds 23yd TD gave the CARDS a 14-0 halftime lead. The Kain/Schultz 20 yd flea flicker accounted for the CARDS other score. Schultz added 2INTs, LBs Marcus Asmus 12 tackles, Ross Wilken 11 tackles, Becker and Peymann led the "D"
