The Legion baseball program is geared for those kids in Fairmont
that have been playing or have the desire and/or ability to play ball at
the varsity level for Fairmont High School the following year. This program
is designed to further advance a players skills and abilities throughout the
summer. To be eligible to play for Fairmont Post 36 a player cannot turn 19
before January 1, 2010. The team has an official roster of which must be
limited to twenty players for the playoffs. These twenty players will be
determined by the coaching staff based on their past performances.
The rules for Legion baseball follow along with the MSHSL rules with a few
amendments that follow Major League baseball Because our Legion
Post 36 fully funds this program there is no registration fee for
participating on the Legion team. This is a great service that this club
provides our kids. Please, if you have a chance, thank those that are
associated with Fairmont Post 36. Players may have the opportunity to
ump lower level games during the summer for which they will be
reimbursed $20 or more/game. If they find this enjoyable and are willing
to do more than they can make quite a bit of money throughout the
summer. There will be tournament opportunities for those kids that excel
at this job, as well. So a player will have the opportunity to give back to
the program and at the same time make some money through their hard work.
